Living the Disney life!

Spent the weekend in Disney after a long work week.  We drove up Friday night with Mom.

Saturday started at Hollywood Studios with Starbucks in the park waiting for rope drop.

After the mad dash was over we calmly made our way over to Toy Story Land, decided the insane line for Slinky Dog Dash was not worth it and rode Alien Flying Saucers - which was much more fun than I anticipated.  I thought the saucers just swung around their own circle but the actually move from one disk to another so you end up moving around the entire platform.  It was a blast and I would totally ride it again.

We had a Fastpass+ for Star Tours, but since the standby line was so short, and our Fastpass+ time had not arrived, we rode it as standby and essentially just walked on.  It was neat to see a different scenario play out in front of us from the last time we rode - supposedly there are over 300 different combinations of scenes.

After Star Tours we saw a showing of the Jedi Training Academy, walked around a bit and watched Muppets3D.

Lunch was at Print Time diner - a 50's inspired cafe where the wait staff are your cousins and mom is cook in the kitchen preparing your meal.  Your cousins remind you of the house rules: no walkie talkies at the tables (phones), no elbows on the table and you have to eat all your food if you want dessert.  It's supposed to be all in good fun, and some of the cousins were able to pull it off, but ours was just falling a little flat.  There was no humor or fun in her voice it seemed.

After lunch it was back to the hotel to rest before heading back out for more rides in the evening.

Mom decided to stay in, so instead of heading back to Hollywood Studio's Babe and I got an Uber to the Boardwalk Inn and walked to the back entrance Epcot where the Festival of the Arts was taking place for a few more days.

From the World Showcase we hopped onto a Friendship boat and transferred over to the front of the World Showcase where we would be closer to future world.  We didn't get on any rides, but we did grab some snacks from some festival booths.  There was a pain pallet chocolate chip cookie that I'd had my eye on for the past few visits and we finally got one.  It was delish!

We also had a croissant donut, which had an amazing texture, but was just way to greasy for us to be able to completely enjoy.  I signed up for a silk water marbling experience and did some shopping while waiting on my appointment time.

First the artist in the booth with you lays down later of white paint.  After that you choose 4 colors and place drops of the colors over the surface of the liquid, anywhere you like and as much as you want.

After picking a pattern you would like, you are walked through the process of dragging different combs through the paint mixture to manipulate the drops into different patterns.

It was amazing seeing the shapes change in front of your eyes.

When you have completed the pattern, the silk option you had chosen was placed on the surface of the water and to pick up the paint. You then pick up the piece with the artist who washes it off, folds it and places it in a bag with some instructions.  I made two of the smaller scarves and I'm excited to be able to use them.  They are currently hanging to dry in my bathroom.

After the water marbling we headed to the Mexico pavilion to take the boat ride in there.  We also saw a beautiful restaurant in the pavilion and decided to make sure to go there sometime for the amazing indoor views during a meal.

After the Mexico pavilion I was beat.  My feet were sore and my knees didn't want to cooperate much, so we headed back to the hotel.  Ended the day with 19,204 steps!

Sunday morning after checking out of the hotel we headed to Hash House a Go Go on the Universal side of town.  We had some delicious meals, but decided that we really do need to share meals there.  They are just way to big to be able to finish!

After breakfast we headed to the Outlet Malls.  We spend a few hours at both the Orlando Prime Outlets and the Orlando Prime International outlets before heading home.  It was a great time and even Mom, who hates shopping usually, was having a great time!

While we were gone my charm bracelet got here.  Can't wait to get my first charm for it!  At the outlet malls I also grabbed two smaller shirts to wear (a XL and a lg) as I loose weight!
